Micro-lending is awesome. I have come accross a site called kiva.org. I was intrigued by this site I saw on Frontline world in PBS. It is a site where one can lend money to another person with no interest all by your PayPal account. This is an awesome thing. Typical loans in underserved countries like Uganda, Bulgaria, or Mexico may come from loan sharks who may charge a very high interest. Kiva.org is a revolutionary site, because it partners with local organizations who work with the person receiving the money to keep track of progress. The lender can give the loan freely all via his/her PayPal account. This is amazing. Finally technology is doing something good in the world. This social networking is not just for MySpace, Friendster, YouTube, and to even some extent Blogger. But technology is being used for the improvement in the micro economies of people.
