Today's TLA of the day is HBJ.

Happy Birthday Jonathan

I turned 26 years old yesterday. I am looking back on the past year. And I think my 25th year taught me a lot about myself. I had the opportunity to travel to South America. I met interesting people. I have gained long lasting friendships. I have experienced different customs and cultures in the world. Hopefully I have gained wisdom, understanding, and a different perspective on my life. I don't understand why this realization hadn't occurred in my early 20's. Who was I in my early 20's? Who was Jonathan Reyes? It is a pretty good question to ask all the time. I felt young again. For some sort of reason, the first years after school made me feel "old." There are a lot of factors that made me feel this way. I think I am my past and my present, all that I hope for my future self is that I will be better than my past or present.

My birthday day was pretty uneventful in the morning. I came in really early to work. I had lunch at Ferrari's Deli in Sunnyvale. I had a dinner party of 10 at Consuelas in Santana Row. Special thanks to my sister Carolina, my brother in law Jed, Danny, Jieun, Dave, Katie, Gil, Joanelle, and Howard for dinner last night. I really appreciate sharing my birthday dinner with all of you. Much love. Consuelas was pretty good. I like their guacamole and their entrees. My sister and brother in law gave me AC Milan vs. Lazio Serie A game tickets for Italy. I am totally excited. I am getting more and more pumped up for Italy now.

As for this past birthday weekend, it started on wednesday. My good friend Brian from LA and his wife Natalie were in SF, so I took them to the Cortez Restaurant http://www.cortezrestaurant.com/ . If any of you ever want to eat really good food go to this restaurant. I love their food. Then on Thursday, I partied it up and didn't know how I got home. Aaah good times. I chilled out on friday to recover from the night before. On Saturday, I spent time with my sister and brother in law and their new dog named "Cleo." and I also went Karaoke in San Jose with friends. Yesterday I went to Yoshiis in Jack London Square for the first time. I went to see Ron Carter's Quartet. Yoshi's is a really cool jazz club.

One last thing about turning 26. While reading the second section of Purpose Driven Life by Warren, his book said something very interesting and profound. Life is all about love. That's so true. I will try to update this blog more often as well...

You never accomplish anything if you don't write your goals down, so I guess here are some of my goals for my 26th year in life.

-Live to be 27
-Learn Italian
-Visit Italy
-Take GRE
-Take guitar lessons
-Visit Philippines
-Visit Bolivia
-Go to church more often
-Read more interesting books
-Bike to work at least once
-Play soccer once a week
-Play basketball once a week

Enjoy,
Jonathan
